Member of Advisory Council of Iran and presidential candidate Mohsen Rezaee held his first press conference on May 3, Fars news agency reported. Rezaee said at the conference that the Iranian nation is currently at a crossroads: "If we continue to go on the way of the current president Ahmadinejad, we will come to a deadlock. If to go back to the past (government of reformists), we will lose. Due to it, I nominate my candidacy," said Rezaee.
Rezaee said that Iran should adhere to a stable foreign policy - neither too passive nor adventurous: "I am committed to the ideas of Iran's Islamic Revolution. We will not be too passive on the third way selected by us, but freedom should not be above our religious principles," Rezaee said.
He noted that he intends to use all national potential possibilities for the establishment of cooperation between Iran and the countries of region. "I want to create a coalition government with the participation of national minorities. I love Iran and I consider wrong the policy of ethnic differences," said Rezaee.
Former corps commander of the Islamic Sepah Revolution (Revolutionary Guardians) Mohsen Rezaee nominated his candidacy for the presidential elections. Rezaee is a member of the Advisory Council of Iran and the first candidate from the Conservative camp. The current Iranian Conservative President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad began pre-election campaign, but has not confirmed his nominations for the elections.
Up to now, from the reformist camp, chairman of National Trust Party, former speaker Mehdi Karroubi, and former Prime Minister of Iran Mirhuseyn Moussaoui nominated their candidacy for the presidential elections to be held on June 12.
