The format of Russia-NATO commission will be used to constantly remind Russia of the remaining international obligations, Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Nalbandov said at a traditional Monday briefing, when commenting on the decision of NATO and Russia to restore the political and military cooperation.
NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer noted that the issue of Georgia was and remains relevant, he said.
NATO and Russia agreed on June 27 to restore the political and military cooperation.
"This is despite the fact that there are still "fundamental differences" on Georgia," the alliance Secretary General said. The decision was made on the Greek island of Corfu, which hosted a meeting of NATO foreign ministers and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
NATO broke the relations with Russia after the August war.
