5 European countries to buy Iranian gas: director of Iranian national company

Five European countries intend to buy the Iranian gas, the Director of the Iranian National Company on gas export Seyid Reza Kesaizadeh said, Mehr news agency reported.

He said Iran has chosen the Pars gas pipeline as a key transit way to export gas to Europe, he said. "The countries intending to the Iranian gas are Bulgaria, Turkey, Italy, Germany and Austria," Kesaizadeh said.

The director said price of gas and political issues remain unsolved.

"We hope all obstacles will be removed as a result of the conducted work," Kesaizadeh said.

According to Mehr, capacity of the Pars gas pipeline will be 40 billion cubic meters if gas per year. Investments in its construction will make up $4 billion.
