Over 42 people infected with A/H1N1 virus in Iran

Director of infectious illnesses under the Iranian ministry of health, Mohammad Mehdi Guya, said that roughly 42 people are infected with A/H1N1 virus, IRNA state agency reported.

This number hit 32 people on July 27, IRNA agency said.

Guya said that besides infected pilgrims returned from Haj to Saudi Arabia, there are Iranian infected citizens returned from Singapore, the USA, Malaysia and Thailand.

He called on Iranian population not to leave Iran without special necessity.

A/H1N1 virus was confirmed once in Iran on July 14 but 200 people were suspected in infection with virus, IRNA Iranian information agency said.

At present, A/H1N1 virus spread in 165 world countries. As a result of this virus, 800 people died. According to World Health Organization, 2 billion of people worldwide are expected to be infected due to rapid spreading of this virus.

Major symptoms of this virus include high temperature, sore throat, uninterrupted cough, coryza, retching and diarrhea.
