Georgia, Tbilisi, August 20 / Trend N. Kirtskhalia /
The police detained members of secretary general of For United Georgia opposition party Eka Beselia's family in Kabuletti last night. The Georgian interior ministry said that son of opposition leader Rati Milorava and her brother Sergo Beselia were detained for insulting and physical injures towards David Japaridze and his spouse.
The police said that two people and Beselia's relatives first insulted Japaridze's wife but then attacked husband. Head of the café called patrol police.
But Beselia's relatives did not yield to the police. Milorava, Beselia and other two people were detained and delivered to Batumi.
Case on hooliganism was filed.
Eka Beselia said that her brother and son were detained deliberately. It was provocation. "There was nothing serious. Two friends of my son and brother squabbled with somebody. But they merely separated them. The case was exaggerated when it was known that my relatives participated in the incident," Beselia told media.
It is not the first case when Rati Milorava and Sergo Beselia were revealed in violation of the law. Before, they had disputes with the police due to hooliganism.
