The settlement of relations between Russia and NATO will not happen at the expense of Georgia's interests. Georgian experts said, commenting on the possibility of registration of Collective Security Treaty Organization.
According to expert Gia Nodia, good relations between Georgia and Russia are in the interests of the alliance, because Georgia is one of the problems of Moscow and NATO.
"But this should not happen at the expense of Georgia's interests. Our Western partners understand the situation. And Georgia does not experience any pressure to give up its fundamental interests," he said.
According to political scientist Soso Tsintsadze, Georgia has a strategic significance for the West.
"Afghanistan is a conjuncture phenomenon, and the war here will end sooner or later, but Ukraine, Georgia and other post-Soviet republics assume strategic importance for the West. For this reason, the West does not exchange the tactical event to the strategy," he said.
"If the talks take place, this means that there are security guarantees not only for us, but also in connection with the return of the separatist regions. The beginning of this process will also be part of the negotiations. Today talks are impossible on the other," said expert Andrei Barney.
