An agenda of the next meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the "Organization for democracy and economic development - GUAM" will be prepared by the organization's national coordinators in Kiev, GUAM Secretary General Valeri Chechelashvili, told Trend news on Sept.2.

The national coordinators of Georgia, Azerbaijan, Ukraine and Moldova will meet in Kiev on Sept.10-11, Chechelashvili said."Generally, their meeting will be dedicated to formulation of the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the Council of GUAM countries' Foreign Ministers to be held at the UN General Assembly in New York in late September," the Secretary General said.

Four post-Soviet republics; Georgia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan and Moldova, established the GUAM format in 1997 during a summit of presidents of European Union countries in Strasburg. However, it practically was inactive until 2005. In the last three years, the main issues of the summits were the settlement of regional conflicts and the coordination of efforts to ensure energy security.
