The new Georgian Minister of Defense, Bacho Akhalaia, has met with ambassadors of the NATO countries accredited in Georgia. According to the Defense Ministry, Akhalaya informed the ambassadors about the major priorities of the ministry's activity.
In the near future the Georgian authorities intend to integrate Georgia into NATO, modernize the army and uphold peace.
Akhalaia stressed both Georgian military personnel's participation in international missions and coalitions and the professional education among civilian and military Ministry of Defense personnel, while promising to accelerate Georgia's integration into NATO.
