Azerbaijan, Baku, Sept. 9 / Trend , E.Ismayilov /

The delegation of the Israeli Aviation Authority in Baku held a meeting with the head of JSC "Azerbaijan Airlines" (AZAL) Jahangir Asgarov, during which it was decided to continue the flight to Tel Aviv, carried out by AZAL, and to launch flights of the Arkia company's aircrafts in Baku, the Israeli Embassy in Azerbaijan told Trend on Sept. 9.

The embassy said the "talks were held in a positive atmosphere and the parties came to a mutual agreement after the discussions. The result of this meeting has provided an opportunity for further development of air communications between the two countries."

AZAL will continue to carry out the Baku-Tel Aviv flights and the Israeli Arkia company will realize its own flights. Last year, the Israeli airline Arkia has received a license to carry out the Tel Aviv-Baku flights.

However, the Israeli airline raised the issue of security to carry out the flights.

Only the AZAL's aircrafts fly in this direction for 16 years. The Baku-Tel Aviv-Baku flights are carried out twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays. Departure from Baku is at 09:35 and arrival on the same days at 17:50 Baku time.
