Georgia, Tbilisi, October 29 / Trend , N.Kirtskhalia /

The visit of the leader of the Movement for Fair Georgia Zurab Nogaideli to Moscow will only serve to enhance his own political image, head of the parliamentary committee on foreign relations Akaki Minashvili told Trend .

"In this way, Nogaideli is trying to maintain his reputation as a political figure and stay in the political arena," he said.

Minashvili stressed that Nogaideli's idea to start negotiations with Russia without preconditions "is unacceptable for the Georgian state." "Dialogue with Russia can be conducted only under one condition, if Russia begins the process de-occupation and recognize the territorial integrity of Georgia," he said.

The MP stressed that Russia proposes to start negotiations without preconditions in order to put into circulation the understanding of independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia. "It is unacceptable to us," he said.

Minashvili also noted that Nogaideli's statement in Moscow regarding refusal from the integration of Georgia into NATO, "does not meet the interests of the people who voted for this decision in a referendum, and the state, which follows the path of democracy and wants to approve its accession to NATO and the EU," he said.

During his visit to Moscow, Noghaideli met with deputy foreign minister of Russia Grigory Karasin, representatives of the Ossetian and Abkhaz communities. He called for talks with Russia without preconditions, and allowed the opportunity to review the strategy towards the country's accession to NATO if Russia provides firm guarantees to the integrity of Georgia.
