The President of Slovenia Danilo Turk is expected to make a state visit to Astana, Kazakh Foreign Ministry spokesman Ilyas Omarov told Trend . The Foreign Ministry spokesman did not specify the exact date of the visit.
"Prior to Slovenian President Danilo Türk's state visit to Kazakhstan, the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Slovenia Rashid Ibrayev met with President's advisers on foreign policy Dusan Snoy and security Ladislav Lipich in Ljubljana," said Ilyas Omarov.
According to the Foreign Ministry spokesman, Dusan Snoy said that considering the rapidly growing geopolitical importance of Central Asia and Kazakhstan's key role as a regional leader, Ljubljana attaches particular importance to the visit. Political circles in Slovenia now call it "a visit of the year".
"One of the main goals of the forthcoming visit will be to sign bilateral documents with regards to the economy, transport and mutual travels of citizens," said Omarov.
