Azerbaijani Minister of Defense, colonel general Safar Abiyev received a delegation of CIS countries, which has arrived to participate in the international campaign on "We are heirs of victory". It is designed for "National Program on preparation for the 65th anniversary of Victory during 1941-1945 War and celebration of the anniversary", the Defence Ministry said.
The Ministry said that the campaign was realized in Baku under President Ilham Aliyev's relevant decree.
Abiyev briefed the participants on heroism demonstrated by Azerbaijanis in the war.
Safar Abiyev informed the guests about the great achievements of Azerbaijan and also acquainted them with the process of army building in the country at the meeting with the veterans.
Head of "We are heirs of victory" international campaign`s headquarters Viktor Yermakov thanked Abiyev for the "warm welcome" and presented him with a decoration.
