The Georgian parliament adopted the draft 2010 state budget and the amendments to the 2009 budget at the first reading.
Under the amendments to the 2009 state budget, the budgetary allocations are reduced by 212.6 million lari to 6 958.5 million. This amendment relates to the return of excess taxes collected back to entrepreneurs.
The amendments also reduced funding for several government agencies, including the presidential administration and the governmental office. The 2010 state budget amounts to 6, 733.4 million lari.
The parliamentary opposition did not support any of the projects.
