Georgia, Tbilisi, March 22 / Trend , N. Kirtskhalia /

The opposition forces of Georgia calls on the democratic community to convene an international conference on Georgia, said in the Labour Party's statement.

The conference should adopt effective decisions to end the dictatorship in Georgia and the restoration of the country's territorial integrity, the statement says.

"All the opposition forces are willing to cooperate with the world democratic forces in this direction," the statement says.

The Labourists confirm that all branches of government, parliament, the court - are controlled by the president, brutal repressive state machinery operates against the political opponents. Murder of opponents, their arrest, blackmail, harassment, covert listening and other illegal activities became common occurrence. The media is under state control, with the aid of which the psychological terror is conducted and propaganda of war is underway.

"Given the current situation, there are no legal and political guarantees for holding the  democratic elections. March 13, a "chronicle" was broadcasted on Imedi TV air directly on President Mikheil Saakashvili's scenario, which showed that the authoritarian regime came to an extremely dangerous phase. This creates a threat to democratic development of the country, stability and peace in the region," the statement says.

At present, text of the statement of the Labourists is considered at the meeting in Tbilisi Marriott hotel, and which political party will join it, will be known later.

Authoritative opposition parties, such as Christian-Democrats, Alliance for Georgia and National Forum don't join the statement.
