The upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan will be transparent and the accusations of the opposition are unfounded, Presidential Administration Social and Political Department head Ali Hasanov told journalists today.
"In the run up to the elections, some political parties have constantly voiced and are continuing to voice criticism of the elections, which is misleading the international community," he said.
Hasanov expressed his "utter disappointment" that the parties continue to criticize the transparency of elections in Azerbaijan despite ever-improving electoral practices.
Parliamentary elections are scheduled for early November. Meanwhile, several opposition parties continue to accuse the authorities of failing to ensure their transparency.
Hasanov said the elections will be held in a transparent and fair manner with the cooperation of international organizations.
"There will be ensured the right of all candidates, including each of the political parties and public organizations that wish to participate in the elections. All conditions for the functioning of supervisory institutions will be created to ensure transparency of the electoral process and the lection institutions will create all necessary conditions for the candidates," he said.
Hasanov stressed that opposition accusations will prove to be unfounded.
