U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will arrive in Georgia July 5 at 12:00 p.m., U.S. Ambassador to Georgia John Bass told journalists today.
He said the details of her visit are being clarified. However, the secretary of state has already scheduled a meeting with President Mikheil Saakashvili.
"We are in the final stages of putting together the schedule," the ambassador said. "We already know that she will meet with the Georgian president and other officials. This is Clinton's first visit to Georgia, and we will try to show her all the dynamism of the Georgian public. U.S. support for territorial integrity and Georgia's sovereignty is a fundamental principle of our policy."
