The Azerbaijani government has decided to install CCTV systems in crowded areas.

The Cabinet of Ministers decided to install CCTV systems to ensure public safety and to protect state interests and prompt responses to emergency situations. The idea was initially proposed by the interior, economic development, emergency and national security ministries.

The CCTV system will be installed in public areas, including parks, alleys, squares, streets and avenues, crosswolkds, stadiums and sports arenas, large shopping and entertainment centers, areas near hotels, mosques, churches, synagogues, pilgrimage sites and other places of worship.

Based on the decision, cameras will also be installed on transport infrastructure, including highways and roads, intersections and bridges, airports and seaports, railway stations and platforms, subway stations, and bus stops.
