Afghan President Hamid Karzai will visit Iran soon, official representative of the presidential administration Siyamak Heravi told Trend over phone from Kabul.

Afghan President Hamid Karzai will visit Iran soon, official representative of the presidential administration Siyamak Heravi told Trend over phone from Kabul.

He added that a meeting will be held in Tehran in 10 days with participation of the presidents of three Persian-speaking countries - Iran, Tajikistan and Afghanistan. Karzai will arrive in Iran to participate in this event.

"Development of economic and political ties between Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan, the increase in the volume of trade between the three countries and ways of solving the problems of terrorism and drug trafficking, existing in the region, will be discussed at the upcoming meeting in Tehran," he said.

The last meeting of the heads of Persian-speaking countries was held August 28, 2008 in Tajikistan.
