Former US Defense Secretary William Perry was the first guest hosted at the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy in 2010 academic year within the framework of the Global Prospects reports.
Introducing William Perry to the students, rector of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy Hafiz Pashayev noted that it is positive case for the students to get information from the man, who has long years of political and scientific experience and took a high post under President Bill Clinton, press service of the Academy told.
William Perry served as a defense secretary in 1994-1997. He said he was pleased to meet with the students of the Academy. He said existing potential of independent Azerbaijan created basis for serious development in the fields of economy, sciences and high technologies. Mr. Perry appreciated the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy as a positive example toward the development of the country's intellectual potential.
