A group of Georgian sailors kidnapped recently by Somali pirates "feel well," head of the Georgian Foreign Ministry's International Organizations Department Sergey Kapanadze said at a briefing today.

He added that the ministry last received news about the sailors on Sept. 11. The ship is currently drifting off the coast of Somalia. The pirates have yet to voice their ransom demands, he noted.

"We are continuing to work in this direction," Kapanadze said. "On Sept. 11, we received news about the hostages. The ship is drifting off the coast of Somalia, but no statements about a ransom have yet been made."

A Malta-flagged cargo ship with 15 Georgian and three Turkish sailors on board was captured by Somali pirates on Aug. 8.
