The Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) has provided all polling stations with additional ballot boxes, CEC International Relations Department head Rovzat Gasimovsaid on Friday.

"Often the ballot boxes overflow with ballots. Regarding this, we studied the requirements and provided additional ballot boxes to almost all constituencies," Gasimov added.

He said the country had already received the colorless ink to be used during the vote. Ink is manufactured in Denmark.

"The quality of ink - the term of its durability, chemical composition and safety to the body have already been tested. The ink does not pose any threat to the human body. The CEC has already delivered the ink to all constituencies and they, in turn, will distribute the ink to areas," Gasimov said.

"The ink is left on the skin for three days," Gasimov said adding that the CEC has tested it.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for Nov. 7. The election campaign was officially launched on September 3. Previous legislative elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan are held by the majority system in 125 electoral constituencies.

Azerbaijan used the colorless ink for the first time in the 2005 parliamentary elections to prevent double voting by the same person.
