EU Special Representative for South Caucasus to examine post-election situation in Azerbaijan

Peter Semneby, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus, plans to discuss Azerbaijan's post-election situation in Baku.
"The visit aims to study the political situation in Azerbaijan after the parliamentary elections, meetings with governmental officials and political forces. It is necessary to think how to move and what conclusions can be made after the elections," Semneby told media on arrival in Baku within the working visit.
He intends to familiarize with the ways for the EU to promote the further development of the democratic system and democratic culture in Azerbaijan.
Azerbaijan held the elections on Nov. 7.
Previous parliamentary elections were held in November 2005. Parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan were held by the majority system in 125 constituencies.
The Central Election Commission submitted the results to the Constitutional Court.
