Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 10 /Trend, T.Hajiyev/

The congress of the opposition Musavat Party will not discuss the issue of unification with the Popular Front Party, the head of the central executive office of the Musavat Party, Arif Hajili, told Trend.

"Maybe someone will raise this issue, but the assembly is the supreme organ in the period between congresses. In this supreme body, the party's position has been determined by a unanimous decision of assembly members. At this stage, the assembly's decision is a response to the appeal of PFPA," Hajili said.

Musavat head Isa Gambar proposed to unite the parties following the course of Rasulzadeh-Elchibey on July 15 at the 21st anniversary event of the Popular Front of Azerbaijan. The Popular Front Party of Azerbaijan reacted first to the proposal.

Musavat Party plans to hold a congress in April-May.

Musavat Party's assembly has decided to further deepen partnership with PPFA, and in the action plan for 2011, this issue is reflected in this form. Musavat Party's assembly is its supreme authority and its decision reflects party's position. Of course, the question of uniting the Musavat with PPFA, issues of partnership and other issues have been considered and will be considered in the future. But at this stage, the topic will summarize the decisions of the Musavat Party. So, Musavat's assebmbly has responded to PFPA appeal on unification with its decision," Hajili said.
