Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili arrived in Washington to attend the events in memory of the U.S. diplomat Richard Holbrooke, president's spokesperson Manana Manjgaladze said at a briefing today.
According to her, on his way to the U.S., Saakashvili learned about the blast in the Krtsanisi training center, which left three dead and 13 injured soldiers. Four of them are in serious condition.
"President Saakashvili offered his condolences to families of dead soldiers and ordered to hold thorough investigation into the incident. All dead soldiers will be buried on state expense. The state will provide care to their families," Manjgaladze said.
Manjgaladze stressed that in the United States, Saakashvili also intends to conduct a series of meetings with the U.S. leaders.
