Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan. 20 / Trend T. Hajiyev /

The forces, included in the Public Chamber, are concerned about the presence of the Union for Democracy in it, the chairman of Azadliq party, Ahmed Orudj, told Trend.

He said that some members of the Public Chamber operate to split the Union for Democracy.

"They agitate the individuals in the Union, saying that the Union is unpromising organization. They suggest members of the Union leaving its ranks and joining the Public Chamber," he said.

He said that the forces in the Public Chamber want to demonstrate a real force in the national democratic camp to the international organizations. Therefore, the presence of the Union disturbs them.

The recent events show that Ahmed Orudj wants to fight with entire Azerbaijan, PPFA deputy chairman Nureddin Mammadli told Trend.

Mammadli said that it is groundless to create new fronts instead of uniting the forces around the organization, by giving the impetus to the creation of this organization.

"I have no desire to express my opinion about such thoughts. On the other hand, the Public Chamber has such powerful organizations as the Musavat, Popular Front Party. They have real power. They can influence on Azerbaijani politics in the future. Why should we be afraid of anyone? If we continue our struggle without fearing the power, then why should we fear the Union?" Mammadli said.

He said that Ahmed Oruj's statements testify to his very abstract attitude.

"I would propose Ahmed Orudj to change his character in this changing world", he said.

The Chairman of the Classical Popular Front Party Mirmahmud Miralioglu represented in the Union said that he was not informed about a possible threat for the Union by establishing the Public Chamber.

"Maybe, Ahmed is informed, but I do not have such information," he said.

The Union for Democracy was founded by the opposing Classic Popular Front Party, Azadlig Party and National Democracy Party after 2005 parliamentary elections. Great Azerbaijan Party joined the union in early Sept. 2008 and People's Party in November the same year. The union is an advisory and cooperation body.
