Azerbaijani-Moroccan intergovernmental commission expected to hold next meeting (UPDATE 2)

Cooperation prospects between Azerbaijan and Morocco will be discussed at the next meeting of intergovernmental commission, which is planned to be held in May-June in Rabat, Moroccan ambassador to Azerbaijan Hassan Hami told journalists on Friday.

Cooperation prospects between Azerbaijan and Morocco will be discussed at the next meeting of intergovernmental commission, which is planned to be held in May-June in Rabat, Moroccan ambassador to Azerbaijan Hassan Hami told journalists on Friday.

Moroccan ambassador expressed concern over the low level of trade turnover between the two countries. According to Hami, at present, draft agreements are being prepared in the economic spheres, which are designed to contribute to the development of commercial Azerbaijani-Moroccan relations. In particular, work is underway on the draft agreements in the sphere of transport, on the avoidance of double taxation, promotion and protection of mutual investments.
Morocco is also interested in developing cooperation with Azerbaijan in the energy sector, tourism, education and other spheres.

Hami said that it is planned to organize mutual visits of heads of various ministries and departments in order to develop relations. The Moroccan Justice Minister will visit Azerbaijan in the near future. In turn, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports will visit Rabat.
