Rector Pashayev: Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy targets to become regional scientific and education center

The fifth jubilee of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy was celebrated in Baku on Friday.

Hafiz Pashayev, Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister and Rector of the ADA, made an opening remarks to the event, the ADA reported.

Pashayev stressed the ADA's great contribution in training young diplomats, state servants and different specialists. The ADA carried out programs on foreign policy, support to PhD, MS education, summer schools and improvement of English language.

Pashayev said the ADA targets to become a regional scientific and education center and that requires increasing the number of education programs, as well as local and foreign students.

A documentary film about the ADA's activities was demonstrated to the participants in the ceremony.

Upon the ADA students' initiative, major part of the event was dedicated to the late Azerbaijani Ambassador to Austria Fuad Ismayilov.

Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Hafiz Pashayev said Fuad Ismayilov was a very experienced diplomat and a great patriot. He offered his condolences to the family of the late diplomat, who were invited to the event.

Other speakers to the event included Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov, Head of Azerbaijani Parliamentary Delegation Samed Seyidov and Former State Adviser Vafa Guluzade. They stressed Fuad Ismayilov's death was serious loss for the Azerbaijani diplomacy.

Speakers to the ceremony appraised the late diplomat's services in resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and representing Azerbaijan's interests in Austria.

A short film dedicated to Fuad Ismayilov's memory, which was produced by the ADA students, was demonstrated during the event.
