The President of NATO Parliamentary Assembly Karl Lamers expressed his support for democratic processes in Georgia and the process of its integration into the alliance. He said this after a meeting with the chairman of the Georgian Parliament David Bakradze on March 22.
"I came here to once again express our support for democratic processes in Georgia," said Lamers, adding that Georgia is making a big contribution to the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan. "Georgia is doing important work for global security, and we appreciate it," he said.
"I also want to say that we support the process of Georgia's integration into the alliance," said Lamers.
In his turn, Bakradze said that cooperation with NATO PA is part of the course and choice made by the Georgian people. "This is our geopolitical choice, and Georgia will not swerve from this path," he said.
On Wednesday, Lamers will attend the 76th Rose-Roth seminar of NATO PA. The three-day seminar will be attended by the representatives of the Georgian leadership, the delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, head of the EU observer mission in Georgia Hans Joerg Haber, head of the diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia, as well as experts.
