Azerbaijan's Central Election Commission (CEC) said Sunday that presidential elections in Kazakhstan were held in a normal and democratic manner.

"We monitored the elections at more than 20 polling stations. During the vote there were not recorded any violations of the law that could affect the result of the elections", the head of the CEC International Relations Department Rovzat Gasimov, who was observing the elections, told Trend by phone from Astana.

According to him, the delegation of the Central Election Commission oversaw the process from the beginning of voting to the counting of ballots. The Azerbaijani delegation will express its official position on the elections at a press conference on Monday.
