Georgia, Tbilisi, July 4 / Trend N.Kirtzkhalia /
The Georgian Foreign Ministry reported that the decision to lift restrictions on the Darial border checkpoint is a continuation of the visa policy of Georgia.
The removing of visa restrictions on the Russian-Georgian border is aimed to facilitate the movement of citizens for tourism, business, medical and other humanitarian purposes.
According to the Georgian Foreign Minister's decree No.159 dated June 30, 2011, the order No.62 dated Feb.26, 2010 on the introduction of visa restrictions on the Darial border checkpoint lost powers.
Earlier, benefits on the border checkpoint applied only to residents of the North Caucasus.
