Azerbaijani Ambassador to Mexico Ilgar Mukhtarov, presented his credentials to Columbian President Juan Manuel Santos.
Under discussion were prospects for mutual bilateral cooperation between the two countries, including in the fields of political relations and energy, the Azerbaijani Embassy in Mexico said.
Mukhtarov relayed Azerbaijan's history and culture to Colombia's President, and further described the economic potential of Azerbaijan. He went on to discuss the process of resolving the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Mukhtarov also presented credential copies to Colombia's Foreign Ministry leadership.
During his visit to Colombia, Ambassador Mukhtarov held meetings at the Foreign Ministry, the Diplomatic Academy, and the Senate during which the ministry discussed mining, energy, transport, and commerce industries.
During the meetings, views were exchanged on the future visits between both countries' senior officials, prospects for development in relations of various fields, such as trade, economy, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
Mukhtarov gave an interview to Colombian media outlets.
