Member of the Iranian Parliament Mohsen Nariman called today for the dismissal of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in his speech before the Parliament, parlemannews.com reported.

Nariman accused Ahmadinejad of power abuse and urged the Supreme Court to sack him.
Nariman became the first Iranian MP who urged openly to dismiss the president of the country.

On Oct. 12, Iranian MP Ali Motahari, who prepared the draft impeachment of the country's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, has resigned in protest after the parliament's presidium failed to accept his draft.

In his statement Motahari said that the presidium members are putting pressure on MPs who put their signatures under the draft.

Earlier, a group of 100 MPs announced intention to seek Ahmadinejad's impeachment due to the fact that he violated the Constitution for about 50 times.

According to Iranian media outlets, 14 out of 100 MPs withdrew their signature under the draft impeachment. In accordance with the internal statutes of the Iranian Parliament, if the draft is signed by 73 MPs, it must be accepted by the presidium.
