Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan Fada Hossein Maleki said a trilateral meeting would be held by the presidents of Iran, Pakistan and Afghanistan in the near future, ISNA erported.

"Considering the complicated situation in the region and its significance, the three-sided meeting of Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Afghan and Pakistani counterparts Hamid Karzai and Asif Ali Zardari will be held soon," the Iranian envoy told ISNA.

"The meeting was due to be held in Islamabad in November as deputy foreign ministers of the three countries agreed on October16, but the exact time and venue of the meeting has not been specified yet."

The presidents held a trilateral meeting in Tehran on June 24 and discussed the latest developments in the world and called for better cooperation in the war against terrorism, extremism, and drug trafficking in the region.
