The ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) considers the 2011 year to have been a success.

NAP has made many achievements in 2011, NAP Deputy Executive Secretary Siyavush Novruzov said.

Novruzov noted that the party has expanded its ranks and strengthen the material and technical base, integrated into world politics and work with individual political parties in Asia and Europe in 2011.

Novruzov also expressed his attitude to the opposition parties and noted that there is no change and progress in their activities.

"On the contrary, I've seen the process of destruction, the refusal of members from the party, leaving the party, the tension between the governing bodies of the party, party functionaries accusations against each other," Novruzov said said.

Novruzov also clarified the issue of holding a regular congress of the NAP

"According to the statute of NAP, the Congress can be done in two cases: it can either be convened by the chairman, or to be held according to the decision of the Political Council of NAP. There is no such idea. The steps will be taken if there is necessity," Novruzov added.
