Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received a delegation headed by Director General of Afghanistan National Disaster Management Authority Mohammad Daim Kakar, the Foreign Ministry told Trend on Thursday.
The foreign minister stressed that Azerbaijan is always ready to support the brotherly people of Afghanistan.
He noted that Azerbaijan is a supporter of the restoration of peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Mohammad Daim Kakar expressed gratitude to the Azerbaijani side for the support of his country and said that Afghanistan attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan in many spheres, including mine clearance.
The guest appreciated the support of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action, particularly training of Afghan experts in this field.
The meeting also discussed ways of development of cooperation between the two countries in the prevention and elimination of consequences of emergencies, in particular, disasters and flooding.
