Approximately 12 issues will be addressed during today's plenary meeting of the Azerbaijani Parliament.

MPs will hear the report of the National Coordinator for Combating Human Trafficking, make changes to the law on "Freedom of assembly" in the Criminal Code, the Administrative Code and other legislative acts, as well as consider the bill on "Culture" in the second reading.

MPs have also discussed the issue connected with the bill on defamation.

Chairman of Great Establishment Party, MP Fazil Mustafa said that the country's media is not ready to work in terms of the law on defamation.

He was supported by Parliament Speaker Oqtay Asadov. He confirmed Mustafa's words and said that some media outlets are engaged in slandering.

Speaker added that there are forces willing to put pressure on Azerbaijan.

"However, no one can put pressure on Azerbaijan," speaker said.

The views and statements of Asadov and Mustafa are supported by MPs Zahid Oruc and Etibar Huseynov.

MP Siyavush Novruzov said that the more Azerbaijan's power grows, the more some individuals try to pressure the country. He said that parliamentary correspondents who write negative statements about the Azerbaijani Parliament should be deprived of accreditation.

"When they improve, then they will be re-instated," he said.
