A regular board meeting of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) was held in Baku on Thursday, the party's official websites says.
Deputy Chairman, Executive Secretary of the NAP Ali Ahmadov noted the great successes achieved by Azerbaijan in 2012 under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, he also briefed on party work.
It was noted that the NAP has held a number of important events, including the seventh General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) in Baku which is regarded as an indicator of the NAP's international prestige. It was emphasized that such a high level of trust is the result of the NAP's fruitful activity as a member of the organization's standing committee.
An exchange of views on the celebration of the 90th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev also took place during the meeting. The theme of the conference to be held in connection with the anniversary of the great leader was approved.
This was followed by discussion of current issues and the hearing of suggestions and recommendations.
