Fly to Baku: contemporary Azerbaijan art' exhibition has opened in Rome as part of a joint project of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, English version of the Baku magazine and the Azerbaijani embassy to Italy.
The opening ceremony was held at the National Museum of Contemporary Art MAXXI in the Italian capital.
It was attended by president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and vice president of the Foundation Leyla Aliyeva.
Prior to the launch of the exhibition first lady Mehriban Aliyeva met with President of the National Museum of Contemporary Art MAXXI Giovanna Melandri.
They said the exhibition would contribute to bringing the Azerbaijani and Italian people closer to each other.
Speaking at the exhibition, President of the National Museum of Contemporary Art MAXXI Giovanna Melandri praised the participation of the First Lady of Azerbaijan at the ceremony.
The vice president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva stressed the importance of the event, noting that 21 artists were taking part in the exhibition, with some of them being already established artists.
The vice president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation said over 100 compositions were demonstrated at the exhibition.
The curator of the exhibition Erve Mikaeloff spoke about the originality of the presented compositions.
Mikaeloff noted there was a great number of talented youth in Azerbaijan.
The participants then viewed 'Fly to Baku: Contemporary Art of Azerbaijan' exhibition.
