Turkey is preparing to send more than 2,000 militants of the terrorist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) to northern Iraq, Haber7 newspaper reported today.
The agreement has been reached within the negotiations between Ankara and the PKK.
According to the newspaper, the PKK and Turkey will reach a full agreement on laying down the weapons on March 21.
After reaching the final agreement, PKK militants will leave Turkey and move to northern Iraq.
The conflict between Turkey and the PKK, which demands the creation of an independent Kurdish state, has lasted for over 25 years. The PKK is recognized as a terrorist organization by both the UN and the EU.
