Azerbaijan, Georgia sign bilateral defense cooperation plan (PHOTO)

Georgian Defense Minister Irakli Alasania is on an official visit to Baku. He met with Azerbaijani Defense Minister, Colonel General Safar Abiyev today.
A bilateral cooperation plan for 2013 was signed during the meeting, the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said.
After revering the memory of Azerbaijani national leader Heydar Aliyev and outstanding scholar-ophthalmologist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva in the Alley of Honor and Alley of Martyrs, an official welcoming ceremony was held at the Defense Ministry.
First, a meeting of ministers in the enlarged format was held. Then a face-to-face meeting was held. While exchanging the views on strengthening friendship relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia, the ministers stressed the need for developing the cooperation in the defense field. Minister Alasania expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan's support.
The guest said that Georgia, as always, supports Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and informed that the development of mutual relations between the two countries is of a great importance for the region.
