Baku will host the first meeting of the Women's Wing of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) on April 4-6.

The event entitled 'The place of women in the future of Asia' will be hosted by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party (NAP) in Baku, NAP's press service told Trend.

The purpose of the event is the organisation of cooperation between women politicians in Asia to reach peace, prosperity and continued development in the continent and region. The event will also discuss the multilateral and bilateral cooperation of female politicians in Asia.

The event will bring together more than 50 women politicians representing political parties of over 30 countries. It will also be attended by representatives of a number of international organisations.

It is of note that in November 2012, the seventh General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) was organised by the NAP in Baku. The assembly's opening ceremony elected the President of Azerbaijan and chairman of the NAP, Ilham Aliyev as the honorary president of the seventh General Assembly of ICAPP.

The New Azerbaijan party is a member of the Standing Committee of ICAPP.
