Nobel prize winner, human rights activist from South Azerbaijan Shirin Ebadi will visit Baku to participate in the South Caucasus Forum to be held on May 6-8.

Shirin Ebadi is the first Azerbaijani woman who received the Nobel Prize, established thanks to the oil capital in Baku, the State Committee for Work with Diaspora told Trend on Monday.

The Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Ebadi in 2003 for the struggle to develop democracy and human rights, especially the rights of women and children in Iran.

It should be stressed that more than 30 former heads of states and governments from more than 50 world countries and more than 200 distinguished scholars and experts will attend the South Caucasus forum.

The main partners of the forum are the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, the Library of Alexandria, the Foundation for Peace and the Ganja's Executive Power.
