Azerbaijan`s first lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, chairperson of the Organizing Committee for the Inaugural European Games Mehriban Aliyeva has inspected preparatory work in the Olympic Village.
Located in Nizami district, Baku, the Olympic Village occupies a total area of 382,397 square meters. The Village is located close to major Olympic venues, including the Olympic Stadium, Water Sports Center, Gymnastics Complex as well as the airport. There are 13 residential buildings in the Olympic Village featuring a total of 1,161 apartments, and the facility will also have duplexes.
Mehriban Aliyeva was told that the office of the Coordination Committee of the Games will be situated in the Olympic Village. Construction of the facility will finish by the end of 2014.
Mehriban Aliyeva viewed houses for athletes and delegates, and praised the look and conditions of the facilities.
