The differences between diaspora organisations are inevitable, head of the State Committee for Work with Diaspora Nazim Ibrahimov told media on Friday.

He added that one diaspora organisation in many countries leads to stagnation, but there is development when there is competition.

"There may be a number of organisations in the countries where hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis live," he said. "There may be differences and different approaches. It is normal. But the important thing is that every Azerbaijani supported the policy pursued by Azerbaijan, promoted the Turkic world and helped to ensure everybody in the world knew about Azerbaijan's fair position. We must not over-stress other technical issues. The main task is the unity of Azerbaijanis and uniting around the country."

He stressed that the press coverage of the problems between diaspora organisations may cast a shadow on the work of the Azerbaijani diaspora.
