Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received the delegation headed by the Speaker of the Parliament of Croatia Josip Leko.
The Minister welcomed the guests and expressed his confidence that this visit will contribute to the development of relations between the countries. Mammadyarov also expressed his satisfaction with successful bilateral cooperation between the two countries and cooperation within frameworks of international organizations, and underscored the role of parliamentary diplomacy.
He noted that the strengthening of the legal and contractual framework and carrying out high-level visits will create conditions for the development of bilateral relations. Mammadyarov also congratulated Croatia on its accession into the EU.
Josip Leko expressed satisfaction with the visit to Azerbaijan and noted that Croatia is interested in developing relations with Azerbaijan in various directions.
The speaker of Croatian parliament underscored that there are opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism. The guest also noted Croatia's principle position on the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and added that Croatia supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
During the meeting other issues of mutual interest were also discussed.
