Another wave of arrests in connection with the protests, which were held in support of the demonstrations in Istanbul Gezi Park occurred in the Turkish cities of Izmir, Bursa, Manisa and Balıkesir, Sabah newspaper said on Friday.

As a result of the country's security forces' operations, which were held at 16 locations, around 15 people suspected of organizing the riots and attacking the buildings of public and private organizations were detained.

The Turkish security forces claim that there are representatives of the left-wing terrorist organizations among the detained.

Earlier it was reported that around 944 people were detained during the protests in Turkey.
The protests have been held in Turkey for three weeks. According to the representatives of the authorities, the protests had anti-government character.

Turkey's opposition parties accuse the police of using excessive force against protesters.
Earlier, the Turkish Interior Ministry reported that around 2.5 million people were involved in the protests in 79 Turkish provinces for three weeks.

Around 4,000 people were injured, 5 people were killed and 4,900 people were detained by the police as a result of the riots in Turkey.
