Political collaboration will be discussed in the GUAM+ format.
In particular, the progress of various projects, as well as prospects of GUAM-US and GUAM-Japan cooperation and inter-parliamentary cooperation of the member states are expected to be discussed by the GUAM ministerial council.
The ministerial council of the Foreign Ministers of GUAM will be held in September in New York.
The regular meeting of the Foreign Ministers of the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development will be held during the 68th session of the UN General Assembly, the organization's secretariat said.
GUAM was established by several post-Soviet countries in 1997 during the summit of the head of states of the European Union in Strasbourg.
In 1999, Uzbekistan joined GUAM, but four years later left it.
At the first GUAM summit in 2006 in Kiev, the organization decided to change its name to the GUAM Organization for Democracy and Economic Development.
