The Netherlands is pressing for an independent and transparent international investigation into the plane crash involving MH17, which was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala-Lumpur, according to the Facebook page of the Dutch Embassy in Azerbaijan.

"The Netherlands is deeply shocked by the terrible air disaster involving flight MH17. We mourn all those who were on board, whatever their nationality. Our thoughts are with their loved ones, friends, colleagues and acquaintances," the embassy wrote in its Facebook post.

"The Dutch government is doing all it can to gain clarity for the victims' families as swiftly as possible. The Netherlands is pressing for an independent and transparent international investigation and calls on all those involved to provide full and immediate cooperation," the embassy said.

The embassy also said that a crisis team was set up at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in The Hague.

On July 17, it was reported that the Boeing 777 (MH17) of Malaysia Airlines crashed in the Donetsk region of Ukraine. MH17 was carrying out flights between Amsterdam and Kuala Lumpur.

At the time of the air disaster there were 298 people on board the plane. All of them died.

It is considered that possibly the plane was shot down, according to one of the versions of the reason of the MH17 crash.
