Baku, Azerbaijan, Sept. 26
Trend:
Azerbaijani presidential administration's deputy head, director of the foreign relations department at the administration, Novruz Mammadov commented Sept. 26 on a statement made by the U.S. President Barack Obama regarding Azerbaijan.
Obama made the remarks at an annual meeting of the Clinton Global Initiative. The U.S. president in his speech criticized a number of countries, mentioning Azerbaijan among them.
"Using President Obama's words there are places without any opposition party or NGO, where even mentioning democracy and human rights is forbidden," Mammadov tweeted.
"Yet, the very places are "strategic partners" of the West, and newspapers, TV channels, NGO's are silent about it...interesting," he added.
