Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan is preparing an appeal of protest to the European Parliament in connection with its earlier resolution on human rights in Azerbaijan.
This is already the 4th resolution on the country, the Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Oktay Asadov said at the opening of the autumn session Sept.30.
At the same time this resolution is of intentional nature, since it was adopted on Sept.18, the day before the major international events in Azerbaijan.
Among 46 people who were preparing the resolution only 1 person has been to Azerbaijan, and it is a former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia. During his period of work military aircrafts were sold to Armenia, the speaker said
The purpose of the adoption of resolution is the pressure on Azerbaijan, however, the country will not allow any force to damage its independence.
He also noted that Azerbaijan has no obligations to the European Parliament. Euronest organization was created for expansion of ties.
The Speaker called the adopted resolution a biased one, and noted that European Parliament applies the double standards in respect of Azerbaijan.
A commission headed by Vice-Speaker Valeh Alesgerov was established on Asadov's proposal in the parliament, which will prepare an appeal of protest.
